Life at Chambeau 137 was moving along as normal. Kat was busy running her Raptor Rehabilitation service, healing injured birds of prey, such as eagles and peregrine falcons. By now, her service had become known nationwide, so various birds were brought in from various national parks. Kat utilized the Raptor Rooms in the extradimensional Chambeau 137 to rehabilitate the birds at a rapid rate. As part of her recovery process, she would bring the birds to the Streamlands and release them there. This was ideal for the birds, because releasing the birds in another dimension would provide protection from poachers in our reality.
Rebekah was also seeing success with her Rose Repository enterprise. She used the Rose Rooms to harvest a plethora of roses of many colors and bring them back to our reality to be used to fulfill custom bouquet orders. Some of her clients were celebrities who collaborated with her to create elaborate floral arrangements to be used on sets for photoshoots or music videos.
As for myself, I was like a leaf on the wind. Although I was busy writing and publishing books that no one read, I found myself becoming increasingly obsessed with the extra-dimensional Chambeau 137. Trying to understand how it all worked, I was determined to find out how and why it existed.
Having only explored a small fraction of it, the extra-dimensional side of Chambeau 137 was massive. To get to it, you had to go through a passage that led from the second floor of the office portion of our real-life facility. This passage brought you to "Level 0" of the extra-dimensional space.
From there, you could take either a spiraling staircase or an elevator to go 137 floors up or down. Each floor contained office spaces and rooms, some of which led to entire dimensions, each of which had their own specific theme.
I had found that the higher up you went, the more positive the energy seemed. Level 137 led to the roof, which was surrounded by a pleasant and heavenly realm of an endless sky with puffy clouds. On the other hand, descending down below Level 0, the energy grew increasingly negative. I had found that there was an abysmal void beneath Level -137. I drew a diagram on a whiteboard in my office illustrating this.
One day, I descended down to level -4. The level seemed to be mostly geology office, mostly empty apart from some sparsely placed geology equipment and instruments. One of the offices had an egg-shaped geode, cut in half and polished. It had a spectrum of colorful layers on the inside of the crust, with a white crystal core with a small gap at the center. It looked just like a geode I had found at a yard sale when I had been 11 years old.
The room had an incomplete corner with a passageway that led me into a subterranean realm of cavernous geode rooms with giant crystals. I didn't explore much of it, so I went back, grabbing the geode from the office along the way.

Over time, my explorations and observations allowed me to see the bigger picture and understand the patterns of what I saw. I began piecing my findings together, and I came to the conclusion that the extra-dimensional Chambeau 137 acted as a bridge between our reality and other dimensions.
There was only the one connection from our real-world facility to the extra-dimensional one, which provided many connections to many dimensions from there.
Now, the "Backrooms" was a concept already familiar to me, which is what the other dimensions were referred to as. However, it seemed that the extra-dimensional Chambeau 137 was a connecting place between our reality and the surreal spaces. I decided to call this hub the "Middlerooms". To illustrate this connection, I drew a diagram on the whiteboard.
Each Backroom dimension varied in size, it seemed, and there were no clear boundaries for each. However, I noticed that the connections were consistent with the energy that corresponded to the level it was on.
For example, if you accessed a Backroom dimension through a negative level, say -99, the dimension would be found to be a very negative place with many hazards. On the flip side, if you accessed a dimension through a positive level, say level +99, the energy and vibes in that dimension would be very nurturing and therapeutic.
The lower you went, the more negative and destructive the connections. The higher up you went, the more positive and nurturing the connections were.

One day, upon first entering Level 0, I noticed something I hadn't seen before. In the wall in the narrow space between the spiral stairs and the elevator, I thought I saw a faint yellow glow emit from a sliver that seemed to outline an arched hidden door.
Why hadn't I seen this before? It was as if an author had randomly written into existence, or something.
I pushed on the wall, and a strange wooden door flung inward, suddenly appearing visible. Incredible. When closed, it seemingly vanished, becoming camouflaged with the surrounding concrete wall. I pushed it inward again, and went inside.
I found myself in a mono-yellow labyrinth of randomly segmented rooms with musty, moist brownish carpet, and an annoying hum-buzz of fluorescent lights. I was now in Level 0 of the Backrooms.
~~~~~~~~
Excited about my newest findings, I rushed back to reality to share what I found with Kat and Rebekah. I told them about the newly discovered hidden door on Level 0, as well as the geode I found.
"You gotta come see this geode-spot!" I said. "It's down on level -4."
"Geode-spot?" asked Kat and Rebekah together in unison.
"There's a realm where it's all caves made of geodes. Also, I found this geode down there, which made me think of something about how the extra-dimensional space works," I said, feeling like a nerd as I reached down my pants and pulled out my geode.
I set the geode on a turquoise stand on a table for Kat and Rebekah to see.
"Look at my geode," I said. "Just look at it!"
Unimpressed, Kat and Rebekah stared at my geode. I pointed my left index and middle finger onto the egg-shaped geode, making slow, circular motions.
"Mmmmmm," I moaned, trying to keep a straight face.
I kept making circular motions, as if I was getting pleasure from touching my polished geode.
"Anyway. My idea is this. The outer crust is our reality. We can touch and see it immediately," I began to explain.
"What's the rainbow part?" asked Rebekah.
"That would be the Middlerooms. That's like a bridge, or hub, between our reality and the endlessness of all the Backroom dimensions."
"What's the white crystal part?" asked Kat, her eyes widening with curiosity and wonder.
I began to make circular motions with my middle and index fingers over the white crystal core of the geode.
"That, my honey-boo-bears, is the geode-spot," I said, winking at both Kat and Rebekah. "This is like the g-spot of the Backrooms. It's pure, chaotic wonder, full of both good and bad energy."
Kat and Rebekah seemed to now be in a trance, staring at my magical geode. They reached out and each placed a hand over mine, and now we were all rubbing my polished geode.
"Go ahead. Touch my geode-spot," I said with a tone of pleasure, breathing heavy.
"Mmmmmm," moaned Kat and Rebekah in unison. Actually, it was more like they were purring with pleasure.
"The spectral part around the core represents the Middlerooms, which are tethered to our reality. We can go back and forth directly between them. However, the crystal core represents untethered dimensions that can only be accessed from the Middlerooms," I continued explaining, as the three of us rubbed the geode.
"The core is our happy place!" declared Rebekah.
"It's both happy and sad," I said. "The white crystal is positive energy, and the gap represents the gaps, or abyss, or negative space. The core can bring pain or pleasure. The spectral Middleroom part is more neutral energy, so it's more liminal and acts as a bridge, or Purgatory, between our brutally raw reality and the dualistic nature of the pure Backrooms."
"Mmmmm..." said Kat and Rebekah, still rubbing the geode-spot. I pulled it away, and they snapped backed to reality.
"Let me show you the Geoderooms!" I said excitedly. "We'll need to exercise caution, since there are pitfalls down there."
We went into the extra-dimensional Chambeau 137. Before we headed down, I showed Kat and Rebekah how to open hidden door on Level 0. Then, I guided the sisters down to level -4, and I led them to the room I had found my geode. We went through the passageway and entered the surreal "Geoderooms". Having the sisters along to accompany me along our exploration together, I felt at home as we were now in a grand "geode-spot" together.
Sitting on either side of me, I held the sisters in my arms, the three of us cuddling as we stared at the sparkling crystals of the geode cavern.
"MMMMMM..." we all moaned together in unison.
