Alone and isolated deep in a forest, I was hiking and exploring a mountain. At some point, I came across railroad tracks that appeared to be abandoned and no longer in use. I followed the tracks until they came to a dead end at the edge of a steep mountainside.
Off in the distance, I could hear a faint train whistle blow, but I could see no sign of it. Suddenly, in a fleeting moment, I was whisked away from my current reality and found myself on a strange train.
There was no one on board, and the train only had a couple passenger cars. Seemingly driving itself, the train was moving swiftly through a vast and brightly lit triangular-shaped tunnel.
In the last car, I found wooden boxes containing gold bars, diamonds, and various gemstones. For some unknown reason, I suddenly felt guilty, as if I had been the one who had stolen the treasure.
Perceiving and understanding the vast value that the train was carrying, I knew that I had to gain control of the train, as it seemed to be increasing it's speed and would inevitably loose control.
I went to the front of the train to gain control of the locomotive. Just as I sat down in the seat, the train emerged from the triangle tunnel. I looked, and saw that the train was high in a strange mountainous landscape. The mountains were shaped like near-perfect triangles, their jagged peaks soaring into space. Some of the mountains seemed to blend into space itself, some sparkling with starlight.
The train was now crossing a bridge that traversed a deep valley that didn't seem to have a bottom, leading into a void. The bridge began to buckle from the weight of the train, and I panicked as I tried to figure out how to drive the train.
The locomotive had many strange knobs, buttons, and levers, and I had no idea what to do. I was overwhelmed and confused.
The train made it across the breaking bridge just as it collapsed into the void. However, the train was gaining momentum as it was now going down a steep grade, chugging along the sheer edge of the mountains. Wanting to protect the valuable cargo and get it safely to whatever the intended destination was, I found a brake lever and pulled on it.
Although the locomotive was now slowing the train down, it was still moving too fast. The train came to a sharp curve, and it derailed. The train fell apart, smashing down the mountainside and into the valley void below. As the train tumbled, I fell out and found myself drifting into the void, watching the triangular mountains fall away above me.
As I fell further down into the void, I felt increasingly helpless and worthless and guilty for the mess I had made of the valuable train, and there was nothing I could do. I accepted my fate of eternally falling into the endless emptiness as I hopelessly descended into darkness and despair.
Then I woke up and found that I had fallen out of bed.
THE END.
